The Slug

I am totally without ambition today. I've been dawdling around in Youtube most of the morning, sent there initially by a picture on Zooey's blog of a little calico cat that is "master" of a train station in Japan. Somebody's dressed her up in a cape and a little hat and now the cat is one of those silly national crazes the Japanese seem to enjoy so much. I went looking for a video of the cat and then just followed one strand after another. Totally aimless, which, like I said, is where it's at today.

The company came for dinner last night, we had fun, stayed up too late, and I had a bit more wine than I'm used to anymore. This morning I just slept in and now here we are. How wonderful not to have to do anything, or be anyplace. (Like work. This would have been a call-in-sick day.)

There is a definite chill in the air, to the point where I'm fighting the impulse to change out of my shorts and put on a pair of jeans. I do believe that is the most complicated decision I'll make today.

Cheers.

Ralph, you sweetheart! - I am so in the mood for being a "slug" today, too. Alas... So, I will trust you to soak it all in for the both of us. Here are good thoughts your way. -mg

btw... did you know you could write to Blogger and have the "word verification" turned off on your blog? Of course, if you think span is a problem, you might not want to do that, but I turned mine off a while ago and have had no problems. ...just letting you know.

Slug is a good word for those doldrums. In fact, I wished I had it a few weeks ago when I was Mr Slug for weeks at a time. I think I could have made some visitors laugh out loud. And thanks for the plug, I thought that cat had more going for it than I do. . . good for him. Glad you enjoyed the story. I didn't think to track it on vid.

Is the word verification a nuisance, Mary? I'm on the fence about it--it can be a pain sometimes when they string a million leteers too close together...I'll give some thought to having it turned off. Your report that you've received no spam is encouraging. (Heck, I've gotten spammed here with the word verification!)

I didn't know about your blog! I've just subscribed with bloglines and am looking forward to diving in!

Looks like the way things are going if you do get up this say sometime we may be entertaining you in Delaware!

Ralph,
I tend toward being a sloth and, like you, have chosen today. All the late nights watching baseball have done me in. I will brush my teeth and wash my face today. No promises beyond that!

I got lots of spam which is why I turned it on. I still get some even with the verification on.

And speaking of late nights, Kat, we have the debates coming up tonight! Not that they'll end so late, but I'll probably listen to a bit of the post-mortem, and then my mind will be too engaged to fall asleep....

Oh well.

I would love to have been a "slug" today, but I am at work! It's a good day for it though, so enjoy. The fall weather is upon us now, so delightful, and the kind of day where you just want to sit and watch the leaves change.

Yeh Delaware. . . that would have to be in the Summer. I usually can't get off in Summer but who knows. I will miss my trip north this year scheduled for November 3rd to 8. Won't be strong enough to make the trip so cancelled. And of course the economy. That's a worry.
