Ain't It Great To Be Crazy?

For some reason all seems right with the world today. Well, let me put it this way: all seems right in my world. The bigger world around us still has plenty to be improved on, and nothing in my situation has changed, but for some reason everything seems easier to think about today. I've spent the entire morning on youtube, following from video to video, being fascinated. It's addictive, absolutley. It all started with a post on Nan's blog, Jade Page Express, where she introduces us to one Fredo Viola performing a piece called "A Sad Song." Click on the link to the left and go see it. You won't be disappointed. There is hope for pop music yet.

And it went uphill from there on youtube. I had to drag myself away to get the day started.

For some reason I started thinking about the songs we used to sing on the school bus when I was in first grade. Much later I found out they were generically called "camp songs," but on my family's camping trips if we sang it was old love songs from the '20s led by my mother, with my father accompanying on the banjo. The school bus songs were a breed apart, just for the trip to school.

Ever hear of "Boom Boom Ain't It Great To Be Crazy"? Goes like this:

Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy?
Silly and foolish all day long,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy?
Horsey and a flea and the three blind mice
Sittin' on a curbstone shootin' dice'
The horsey slipped and fell on the flea.
"Whoops," said the flea, "there's a horsey on me!"
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy.

Ta da! May your Thursday be crazy--and look out for horseys!

I'm just clicking with you today. I love this Dan Fogelberg song. I visited Nan's blog today, got stuck on YouTube for a while (that's not uncommon) and am probably a bit crazy too. My father didn't play the banjo.

Ralph,
It seems I missed a lot by walking to school!
