We are partners who transitioned to a new place, from city to country and into the house of our dreams. But settled or not, life never stands still. Every day is still a day of transition.
Welcome
After a long hiatus, I'm back with every good intention of sharing a few observations about this new life in the country. I hope it will be daily. I would dearly love to sweeten the pot with some music, but the copyright police have made sharing tunes on Blogger dangerous to the health of blogs, so there will most likely be silence on that score. I live for comments, so feel free....
No, I'm not crapping out on you already. We are entertaining guests this entire week and I probably won't have much time for navel-gazing. I might be able to squeeze one good post in, but if not, see you next week.

Sounds OK To me Ralph. I was happy to chat with you on the Alexandria fire story and more. Keep me up on what Steve decides. A friend at the clinic said the local American Legion Post is where you go first. He has everyone going to a post to be sponsored. Tell him to find one closest to the new home.
Thanks for the info, Z&M. Actually, there are a few veterans here in the neighborhood who use the VA medical facility in Chesapeake, the nearest one to us. Could one of them be a sponsor? And why a sponsor? Can't any vet simply go to the VA and claim his/her benefits?
You're back! Didn't know why I suddenly thought of it but clicked on the link to bring me on over here. And there you were!
Yah - I'm shy of Medicare myself although I did try to pass myself off for a senior discount at the movies yesterday. Got carded - and turned down. Still have a few months to go!
So good to see you again! Now to put you back in my active link header!
Remember what I once told you, Ralph - the words will out!

Uh-oh, Jeff, here comes the pressure! I'm supposed to be writing something today and got caught up in real-life projects....but the day's still young!
As for organizing your food plans, did you ever find the gravy recipe?
I did, Anon. Are you the same who asked for it on the other post? I'll put it up here on Friday, when I usually do recipes.
